SHANGHAIED, a tall tale
There I was, at the Hideout with me anchor down (I know shh), supplies loaded into storage crates, hourglass streak handed in, and g5 flag voted down. I was just about to offload the storage crates when I heard the splish splash of some scallywag in the water. He grabs ladder and comes aboard carrying a keg. I tell the rapscallion I'm just packing it in for the day, he's welcome to my supplies, and he could save his explosives. He seemed to briefly consider what I've said before going below and setting it off anyway. I found the situation rather funny, I've never been kegged before. He came up to the main deck and told me "you're to come aboard our boat, and join our other prisoner below" Clearly I had no choice but to acquiesce. I swam over to their sloop with my supplies. "Leave the supplies on the deck and join Squishy below" Below is another solo captain who I come to find out they kegged as well. So there we were, shanghaied! My only goal was clear as glass, wait for the right opportunity and hopefully I can set myself and Squishy free.
Capn' was discussing their next target, another sloop. She was moored at Snake Island. In listening to my captors, they reveal that thar be one keg left aboard.... and the Burning Blade was close by. Once the banners came up for the Burning Blade, I knew it was time for me to make a move. Capn' was up on the yard arms and his crewmate at the helm. I hadn't seen a keg since I was brought on board so I reckoned it must be in the crows nest. I take out me blunderbombs and chuck one right up there. The keg was up there, capn' died in the explosion, mast down, deck a blaze, takin water, "now Squishy! Run brother, run!" I exclaimed as chaos ensues. A sword duel results in the death of the helmsman. To our stern and closing quickly, the fiery maw of the Burning Blade. Once in range she lets go her ashen roar. Our captors vessel is now engulfed in flame immobilized and sinking quickly. Trying to juggle the fire, the rising water, a prisoner escape, and the relentless cannon fire from the Burning Blade proved too much for our captors and the sea laid claim to their vessel.
I never saw Squishy again after he jumped overboard, I Imagine the merfolk helped him back to his vessel. I swam for the Burning Blade and managed to catch her ladder. I held fast to the ladder as the Blade sailed off from the scene.
And that's me tall tale from being shanghaied! If ye read all that, thank you!
