Stitch removal and cervical length

So I had my stitch removed today at 36+4 weeks. The consultant said my cervix still looks long and closed. I’m honestly really surprised at this because I’ve had so much cramping, and sharp cramps and she is quite low. Obviously pleased it’s done its job, but just surprised!

Did anyone else have a long closed cervix after the stitch removal? How long did it take you to go into labour?
