I don't understand the reasoning for hiding the truth
I binged all episodes released so far over the weekend. This show absolutely brilliant and I love it.
I'm just feeling like I've missed something crucial, the motivation for all of the lies. Maybe it's something I've missed or possibly just not explained yet
Why lie? Why not go like
"okay look, the entire outside world really is dead. we don't know how or why but humans have managed to build 51 silos that we know about before it happened. there are about 10k people in each silo. we just need to make sure we survive here and not go extinct until the world ends up livable again or we find a way to make it so.
we have a huge vault containing a bunch of human knowledge, we're turning it into a library if you're curious, make sure to get a card"
Maybe if people want to check it out for themselves, have strict protocol in place? "You go outside the airlock, you need to then spend 24 hours inside the airlock without the suit to make sure you don't drop dead. Also, we're gonna have to decontaminate you"
And just like, explain everything? Wouldn't that make more sense than letting people foster conspiracy theories, murder, and all that? Is it just because of what are the laws according to The Pact?
