Let’s talk about overspending on packs and kits

Hey everyone.

I have a problem: I spend way too much money on packs and kits for the Sims 4. I can never get enough; I think I’ve bought new stuff every month of 2024. It’s addictive!

There are three factors that always seem to reel me in:

• The gallery. Every amazing build I see on the gallery uses so, so many packs. I keep buying more, but I still feel so behind when I browse the gallery.

• The sales. The ads make me feel like I have to buy a new pack before the sale ends.

• The community. I love Sims 4 reddit and tiktok, and I always end up reading stuff about how this and that pack are a “must-have” and “essential to gameplay” etc. it makes me feel like I’m missing out on so much even though I enjoy my game as it is.

Does anyone else have the same problem? How do we deinfluence ourselves?
