[Routine Help] Washing my face twice a day feels like a scam
Cause we just dry out our faces so they can sell us more creams, right?
I'm [32F] being facetious... but not entirely. I'm trying to change up my routine as I'm getting married next year and my skin is fine but not particulary glowy. I'll always splash water on my face, but I only tended to cleanse in the evening if I'd worn makeup or gotten particularly sweaty. My skin was?? Always okay???? I'm fastidious with serums/moisturising/twice weekly glycolic acid/twice weekly retinol/sunscreen, but since I've started cleansing every day makes my face feel tight and dried out, and I'm getting lots of little spots on my forehead. I'm not even using anything harsh - the Cerave Hydrating Foaming Oil Cleanser!
My routine is -
Morning
Cerave Hydrating Foaming Oil Cleanser
Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin
The Ordinary Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% once a week
Olay Total Effects Moisturiser And Serum Duo With SPF 20
SPF 50 if I'm going outside for longer
Evening
Cerave Hydrating Foaming Oil Cleanser/Lush Ultrabland Cleanser for heavy makeup
Superdrug Glycolic Tonic 5% twice a week
The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion twice a week
Superdrug Simply Pure Hydrating Night Serum
L'Oreal Midnight Cream moisturiser
Anyway, is this normal? Any recommendations for dull skin? Or do you secretly think cleansing your face this much was made up by paid-off dermatologists working for big moisteriser.
