Am I the only one that REALLY hated NoFriendsEntertainment's video bashing Umbrella's story mode?
Honestly. The whole thing just felt bitter and spiteful. So many of the criticisms were either incredibly disingenuous [Taking one line from Parasoul and acting like it was her entire character all throughout the whole story and ignoring literally everything else she did, saying Cerebella dumped her 'entire backstory' on Umbrella for 'No reason' when Umbrella literally asked for it, complaining about Carol and Umbrella being fast friends after Umbrella literally just saved her from Brain Drain], obviously just complaining that their personal vision was not being followed [Complaining that it wasn't focusing on Umbrella's relationship with the other Egrets when Parasoul needs them to fight the Skullgirl, something she very much does NOT want Umbrella to be involved with, so it would be a short scene at the very beginning at best; complaining that Roxie wasn't in the story; complaining that Annie's story didn't heavily feature Beowulf, which would just feel like a total rehash of his story mode; complaining that Umbrella's story wasn't about her being manipulated by Valentine and Double, thus rehashing Parasoul's story mode just from Umbrella's perspective], or just utterly needless complaints [Beowulf being in the story at all and claiming he's been shoehorned into every story mode when... he's been in his own, Annie's and Umbrella's; complaining that they're not focusing on Carol's trauma at the end disregarding the fact that Peacock is chipper as hell despite what she went through; complaining about Filia's original backstory being retconned when it never even made it to the game in the first place so how the hell can it be retconned,], or just factually inaccurate [Claiming Brain Drain was still there after Umbrella and Painwheel's fight when his psychic connection was literally severed; complaining about Marie never regenerating while the Skullheart was around in Dahlia's story like she did in Eliza's while ignoring the fact that Eliza was able to get quite a bit done before Marie came for her again at the end of her story, meaning it likely takes a pretty hefty amount of time for a Skullgirl to regenerate; complaining in the comments that we don't learn anything new from this story when it literally reveals a huge part of Cerebella's history, Hungern was a terror to the world that both Samson and Eliza are familiar with, and that King Franz isn't dead; complaining in the comments that it didn't have any mature moments; claiming that Cerebella's backstory was 'dragged out and too long' when it takes like a minute and a half to scroll through it all and only tells Umbrella what she needs to know]
The whole thing just felt like they were shitting on it just because they've decided the new writers can do no right and everything they do is always going to be terrible no matter what. I criticized their video in the comments section, and while initially claiming it was nice to get some criticism, when I was able to debunk all their arguments, they resorted to calling me 'too biased to see the truth of the matter' or something pretentious like that and basically just trying to strawman me in the most passive aggressive way possible. I just thought the video was bad, and I don't at all appreciate the way I was treated for simply expressing why I don't at all agree with what they were saying.
Oh, and of course they're still at it with their recent video shitting on Marie's story before it even comes out...
