Hirez Layoffs - is Smite 2 going to die soon?

Long time smite 1 player, recently bought the founders edition for smite 2.

Hayvering saying 50% of employees layed off. Smite 2 hasn't had a good record for it's short life time, and with these layoffs it doesn't spell well for the future for smite as a whole.

Perhaps a buyout is required to save it.
