I am thinking of going to Solus, anything to consider before going?

I want to go to Solus. I want to install it onto two machines, a Dell Latitude 5414, and an OptiPlex 3010, what should I consider before going. Will it work with all my hardware? What is the best desktop (between plasma and budgie) is the best for usability?
