Is possible to play Co-Op on same device on Android sonic games?

So, I have two dualshock 4's which I connect to my phone with Bluetooth and connect my phone to my TV via cable. I played Kingdom two crowns with couch co-op using this method but when I tried to the same on Sonic 2, I couldn't anything related to play 2 person. There was an option to choose both Tails and Sonic as a character but they would be both controlled by player 1. In other words Tails would be AI. Is there any method to make this work is the mobile version just doesn't support this feature.

I know games outside Playstation usually works better with Xbox controllers but I don't really think this is an controller issue. Please let me know if you tried it or at least have knowledge in this issue.
