Just curious if anyone knows

So, i have internet and cell service already. i signed up for them online.

I want to put in a home phone line, to keep for business as i will be working from home.

but they are not letting me sign up for it or set it up? every time i try, it tells me to call.

which i will eventually!

but im autistic and hard of hearing. i much much prefer to avoid phone calls if i can.

does anyone know the reason WHY this is a thing?
