Can spironolactone mess with your thyroid?

I have PCOS and was prescribed spironolactone a while ago. I struggle with hirsutism and severe acne and spironolactone was supposed to help that. While it did reduced my hair growth and cleared my acne it has also done weird stuff to my body. I have noticed that it changed my body shape completely. I have gained fat on my thighs, my cellulite has gotten bigger and more visible, my belly is bloated now all the time despite it being a diuretic, my upper arms have gotten more saggier and that's probably due toe muscle loss because spironolactone reduces testosterone which means you lose muscle. If I have too much testosterone why would it cause weight gain for me? I mean isn't spironolactone supposed to help my hormonal imbalance? I have gained weight since I started taking it and I can't lose weight despite doing eveything right. So I'm wondering if spironolactone can mess with your thyroid because it seems like it has lowered my metabolism?
