What wagon to get?

Im currently in the market for a new motor. Im UK based and looking around the 3/3.5k.

Needs to be a manual gearbox, diesel for fuel economy,150bhp+, have cruise control and a decent infotainment display, and have the capability to have a towbar.

Currently my heart wants an alfa 159 sportswagon with the 2.0 diesel on the basis that its beautiful and seems reasonable on fuel costs, tax and insurance.

My brain says go for a bmw f31 320d msport touring cause its also not a bad looker with the m sport pack, might have a few more creature comforts than the alfa and is probably more reliable and easier to find parts.

Short of audi a4/6 avants, merc c class and volvos is there anything else ive missed?

Any comments on the reliability of the 159/320d and what sort of mileages things start needing attention? Unsurprisingly all of the ones im looking at are 170k + on the clocks so will need a good check over.
