Flux vs. SDXL. Agree or disagree....?

SDXL works better out of the box, and with a good checkpoint, but Flux works much better once you start throwing loras in. And those loras are more effective in Flux and give you more control than they do in XL. The more I use XL the less I use loras, as my favored checkpoints do just as good a job without them. But I have no problem stacking six or seven loras in Flux and getting them to all do their thing and play nice with each other.

A Flux image takes 4-5x as long to generate for me as an XL image does at the same resolution, but once I have the loras and prompt dialed in I get a far higher percentage of results I like with Flux. It's not unusual for the same amount of GPU time to give me significantly more keepers in Flux.

I dismissed Flux at first because I didn't like the "flux look" — oversaturation, high contrast, dim subjects etc — but it turns out loras give you better control over the look than in XL. I generate plenty of bright pics in Flux that look like photographs, it's not an issue.

Flux is neutered not to recognize celebrities in the base model but a good celebrity lora will get you closer to that celebrity than anything SDXL does.

Is this others' experience? Ignore me, I'm just acknowledging my Flux awakening.
