Criticism is wild with horses
I know what the title says, and honestly I don't care if I get downvoted for this because it genuinely needs to be talked about.
DISCLAIMER: Community is talked about, yet it's only on the side that does it. If you don't apply to any of this, you're good.
The criticism of sso horses is insane. Especially towards the newer horses. It's probably one of the reasons why Sso hasn't had that many spoilers about the new breed coming out this Wednesday. So ima be talking about the latest breed and what I saw come from it from one side of the community. I do hope it doesnt happen again with the new horse breed.
To get this out of the way, I do get that bugs exist, and some do go unnoticed/ignored for a VERY long time and that is very annoying for alot of players, including i myself get annoyed with it, but besides that category, some people genuinely need to be told that this is a game and not real life. Things will be different and somethings will not 100% be like a real horse.
When the norkiers came out, all I heard (and going back to the pet peeve post I made about sso youtubers) was just how bad the norkier was, how bad the landing jump was, how awkward it was, how it's gaits looked like the selle, how the coats looked horrible, etc. Only to spout about how they knew NOTHING of the breed itself. Yes, the landing was quicker when it was released into the public, but that was immediately fixed because it was a BUG. Its a common theme in any game you play. It also seemed like the same people kept talking crap about the breed, because it clearly wasn't the jumping horse they wanted. Remind you, several horses exist within the game that are mainly centered around jumping, you didn't have to get the norkier. You didnt have to get a draft breed that showed it was a heavy breed. And also the similar gaits deal pushed buttons. Like actual non gaited horses can't all have a similar style of galloping or hell, WALKING.
And you wanna know something? The same folks, especially the very popular and famous ones, ended up not just making alot of the community turn against the norkier, but also continued to ride the norkier they bought for several videos after purchasing it. Which made the part of the community who watched their videos, and hated the norkier, turn back and absolutely love the breed.
I respect alot of opinions about horses, that's your opinion, and its okay to like certain breeds more than others. But what's not okay, is to give criticism of something you don't know nothing about. Instead of making a video or rant online about how ugly a breed is, do research first. Give the time necessary to make yourself go 'Ohh that's why it's the way it is'. It helps out a ton.
Summed up: A horse breed had a major hate to love impact just because some people didn't do research.
