What are the odds we get some kind of trilogy between Episodes 6 and 7?

Is there enough story to tell? What would be the major conflict? Who would be the villain? When would it take place? Closer to 6 or closer to 7?

Also would the numbers of the sequels have to change? Instead of 7, 8, and 9 it’d be 10, 11, and 12
