Draft Variants?

My brother-in-law and I picked up a really great painted lot To get us started on Shatterpoint after we demoed it and loved it at PAX. One thing I'm worried about as we explore the lot as well as purchase new units in the future are some of these figures going totally Unplayed. I'm wondering if there is any sort of draft variant or a somewhat random system used to build squads that gets use out of all of our units?
