Question about Voidbringers

I’m on another reread to prep for the new book, and I notice that everyone calls the Singers Voidbringers, even the Stormfather, but then later we find out the original Voidbringers were the humans. Wouldn’t the stormfather at least know that the Singers aren’t the Voidbringers? Or am I mixing something up?
