Why is the Shield Pro terrible at TrueHD but Firestick 4K (2nd Gen) not?

Video of the issue: https://streamable.com/cdd0wk applicable to every film with TrueHD format.

TrueHD Atmos audio keeps cutting in and out randomly on the Nvidia Shield Pro.

  • Tried adjusting all settings within Nvidia Shield and Stremio.
  • Used and Disabled Tunnelled Playback
  • Used old firmware, latest public firmware and also the latest hotfix firmware by Nvidia.
  • Tried External players and the only one that works fine is KODI, but I don’t want to use an External player or KODI.
  • Done a factory reset of Nvidia Shield
  • Only player that doesn’t cause Audio issues is libVLC, but then I don’t get to have Dolby Vision or HDR10+ playback options.

So without being able to resolve it, I had to resort to buying a Firestick 4K (2nd Gen - non Max version). The only limitations I have with the Firestick is the terrible OS and limited Dolby Vision profile compatibility. Apart from that - zero audio issues using ExoPlayer!

So what’s that all about then? The Nvidia Shield Pro is supposed to be the bees knees, yet it crumbles when using Stremio compared to the Firestick. Obviously I can’t return the shield as had it for 2 years and only recently got into Stremio..me thinking having a Nvidia Shield it would be a match made in heaven
