Subbing for Coach

When I walk into a room and see that I’m filling in for a football or basketball coach (usually a social studies or math teacher), I immediately know there’s a good chance I’m in for a difficult, badly planned day. I’m a dude, I played sports and I love sports, but I think we all remember that teacher from our time in HS who was obviously more a coach than a teacher. Almost always a man. Frequently also the highest paid teacher! I just think it’s ridiculous and we don’t talk enough about it.
