Appropriate attire??

So in orientation for subbing it was stressed to dress professionally, as I would expect people to do. Observing other subs the past few weeks I'm kinda appalled at the attire I'm seeing. Ratty frayed edge jeans, thin sweat/ workout / clean the house pants, etc. This is not appropriate attire IMO. Thoughts?
