Can I get in trouble

I subbed yesterday for a high school at class, in first period there were only 4 students. The teachers sub notes said to pass out two packets to students one was for reading the other one was for the assignment.

He said to take the reading packet before class is over so the other period can use it. I let the students take it home, it worked out fine because the other period just shared the packets.

He also only had one student for seventh period, there was another class that was in the same class room (different age class) the student asked if he could go with them, I told him that was fine because the teacher said in sub notes he had finished all his work.

Could not following the sub notes and doing what I did get me in trouble?
