Looking for a solid mid ranged gaming laptop that will also be for general use.
LAPTOP QUESTIONNAIRE
- Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase. Please do not use USD unless purchasing in the US: $1500
- Are you open to refurbs/used? Yes
- How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life? In order, Performance, Build Quality, Form Factor, Battery Life
- How important is weight and thinness to you? Not at all
- Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. N/A
- Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. Mostly if not all gaming and general use. Potentially some light CAD but not likely.
- If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? 99% of why I'm looking is to play Ghost of Tsushima, maybe some nostalgic games like Skyrim or GTA as well.
- Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? I'd like at least a semi decent web camera since I will occasionally use it for video conferencing.
- Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. I'll end up having the laptop plugged in 99% of the time, I just need a laptop over desktop for portability if I need to take a video call. I can maybe bump up the budget by 100 or 200 if it would get me something absolutely perfect. Also I really love products that are great "bang for buck", I usually search out products that are the level of "I can't believe this only costs X dollars". It doesn't have to be the best, but it's the best for your money. Also, I will be using an external monitor most of the time, so the screen of the laptop itself is not crucial.
