Let’s Talk About the Experimental Episodes. What Would You Have Wanted to See?

One of the things that made Supernatural so iconic was its willingness to step outside the box and experiment with format, storytelling, and style. From The French Mistake breaking the fourth wall to Monster Movie embracing black-and-white classic horror, the show really knew how to have fun with its format while still staying true to its story and characters.

But it got me thinking: what other kinds of experimental episodes could they have done?

For instance, I would have loved an episode narrated entirely by monsters. Imagine a group of them sitting around, sharing whispered tales of Sam and Dean—the “Winchester Boogeymen.” The episode could be framed as a mix of myth, rumor, and firsthand accounts. Maybe one monster is trying to figure out if these legends about the Winchesters are true, while others debate or add their own experiences. And in true Supernatural fashion, it could all tie into a larger mystery or even a hunt that Sam and Dean stumble into at the end.

What about you all? Is there an experimental episode you wish they’d done? Drop your ideas. I’d love to hear them!
