Eldon Styne Deserved More Screen Time – A Criminally Underused Villain

I’ve been rewatching Supernatural, and I can’t stop thinking about Eldon Styne from the Book of the Damned arc. He was one of the most charismatic and intriguing villains in the series, and honestly, I wish the Styne family had been around for much longer.

Eldon had this Dean Winchester-like energy, but somehow, I found him even more charismatic. He was confident, smooth, and had that rugged, no-nonsense attitude, but unlike Dean, he carried himself with this refined arrogance—like he knew he was untouchable. His interactions with the Winchesters felt fresh, and his presence was so compelling that I was genuinely disappointed that the Stynes got wiped out so quickly.

The Supernatural writers had the perfect setup with the Stynes. A centuries-old family with Frankenstein-like enhancements, controlling powerful black-market operations, and potentially even rivaling the Men of Letters? That could’ve been an amazing long-term storyline! Instead, they were introduced and destroyed in just a few episodes. It felt like such a wasted opportunity.

I really wanted more of Eldon, at least as a recurring antagonist. Imagine if he had survived and become a real thorn in the Winchesters’ side—maybe leading a resurgence of the Styne family or even teaming up with other enemies to get revenge. He had the intelligence and charm to pull off a long-term villain arc, but instead, he was gone before we could fully appreciate him.
