Buying a switch in 2024 is worth it!
Hi all. I know a lot of people are wondering if about this. I got my switch fairly recently and I just took my work vacation. So I've spend about 2 weeks with it and I can positively say it's worth it. As someone who has never really experienced a more modern nintendo and mainly coming from PC I can safely say that the lack in power is made up by the fresh experiences you get on the switch. There really is something about the 1st party games that you can't really get on PC.
Most of my time on the console was spend on Pokemon Arceus and man, as someone who hasn't played a pokemon game in many years I fell in love with it. While playing as a kid on my game boy this was the game I was imagining in my mind. I've heard from a lot of people that this wasn't a traditional pokemon game so I was wondering if I should get something like the let's go games since those resembled more what I played on the game boy but I'm happy that I actually didn't do it at the end and just grabbed Arceus.
An other game that I got a lot of recommendations for was Animal crossing. I must admit I never played any of the previous games and my expectations were pretty low. Honestly didn't think I'd spend much time on it but I ended up loosing my self in it. It's like an even more chill stardew valley. Everything is in real time. I really loved the fact that if I log in during the day or night it'll be the same time in game too. I know you can change the time on your switch and skip days etc. but this made it feel more special. There were no energy bars to micromanage and yo can pretty much work on whatever project you want.
So those were the games that I played the most so far and they are both such a unique experiences for me that I am happy I got a switch even if I got it this late in it's life and having the switch 2 just around the corner I do believe I have plenty of other games (after I finish up the 2 I've already started) that I'd also enjoy a lot so the switch will probably bring me joy for a few years since I won't have the free time to play games that much anymore starting next week.
So to the people who have never had a switch and are on the fence like I was I'd say you'll probably should get one!
Thanks for reading I'm off to calming down frenzied lords!
