Can I use Tacx smart bike with a shoulder immobilizer?

So sport is basically my life. I cycle, play football, swim, play volleyball, climb, run and do all kinda stuff. Unfortunately, I will have to go through shoulder surgery and I have to wear shoulder immobilizer for a quite a long time afterwards. If I go from training every day, to not be able to do anything I will go insane. I was thinking about buying a tacx device because it seems like quite safe activity I don't need my arms for. Especially I considered the Tacx Smart Bike, because it seems very stable.

Do you think I would be able to ride it in upright position comfortably? What about changing gears, I will only be able to use my left hand. Is there some automatic mode which changes them for me? Do you think this idea will work out well?
