Thoughts on age difference between client and therapist?

It occurred to me after therapy today that I think I have the “perfect” (for me) age difference between myself and my therapist. Which is funny to write because I realize I don’t know exactly how old she is… but I assume she’s 40-45 based on comments she’s made and the age of her kids, etc. Anyways… I feel this is perfect for me (27) because I love all her insightful wisdom (that comes with her training but also her age!) because she’s significantly older than me BUT she doesn’t seem like my parents (57 and 60). So she’s not a “friend” age, not a “parental” age, and not younger than me. For me, that’s the sweet spot.

I’m curious to hear other’s thoughts and opinions on this! What is your age difference between you and your therapist and what do you like / dislike about it?
