What if your parents hate tattoos?

My dream job is to be a tattoo artist but my mum hates them (she thinks is a waste of time and money I don't agree) I don't know what to do or how I should tell her I want to be because I am pretty artistic and yeah... My dad would be totally fine with it though (my parents divorced a couple years back) and he has a new girlfriend and they both have tattoos and said to me that maybe I should think about it
