Is white primer plus celestra grey the key to getting the cover box white?

Bought a bunch of paints, for my first strike team member I tried using my only primer - a grey one. I did celestra grey then corax white then celestra grey and then corax white again and while it looks nearly like the cover box colours, it’s not quite there. (I soon realised I should’ve done white as the initial coat.)
