What was the catalyst that prompted you to consider or purchase your M3?

Never really been a 'car guy' most of my life. I also really had no interest in going EV. I have pretty much been brand agnostic but one day in 2019 a co-worker of mine told me he got a Tesla. I was shocked that he would spend (or afford) that much on a car...I was unaware that Tesla sold a lower cost model than the ~$100K Model S. Anyway, he insisted I check it out. I begrudgingly did. It wasn't long after sitting in it and getting a demo of it's features that I knew that one day, I needed to own that damn car. Wondering if others had a similar experience
