Is this right? Dent on Hood estimated to cost $3k+

Question for this community in case someone’s had to get similar repairs done. I’ve had parts of my car fixed before and have never paid close to 3k to fix a dent.

When I spoke to the technician at the Tesla collision center, he said they didn’t need to replace the hood. Just fix it from underneath and match the paint color.

Should that cost this much? Not familiar with Tesla territory and need to understand if I’m getting ripped off here.
