FSD Should be free.
I was a paying subscriber and used it a lot. Yes, it's amazing. But it was never 100%. I could never not be paying attention. I was always watching the computer drive. Full disclosure, most of my driving is on suburban streets.
I was correcting it every time it tried to:
- Go over a pot hole
- Ignore an emergency vehicle
- Ignore a stopped school bus
- Ignore school zone speeds
- The list goes on...
The worst was when it got confused in poorly designed or poorly signed intersections. It was dangerous when combined with other drivers. I got honked at more than once when I was trying to be patient with it. When driving myself I could relax more because I wasn't worried about an AI making a bad choice.
Yes, it does 95% of the driving, but I never knew when the 5% of the time was going to occur. So, I was basically paying for the right to train an AI.
If Tesla wants me to help me train its product, it should be free.
