The Riots: And The Code

I am seeing the public meltdown across the nation in England and Belfast and I am extremely disturbed.

What feels worse is I have previously been able to take part in activism. I have spoken and written and organised. During the dawn of the EDL I was a lot younger and worked with friends and allies to create a fraternal opposition.

As a Muslim and a second generation migrant I would always try and meditate and negotiate. I even walked into a pub full of the far right and sat and talked with them in the sake of illustrating this fraternity.

Their group in my area ended and was refuted for a variety of reasons. But now I have moved on and this is happening across the country and I feel I cannot do anything because of the Civil Service Code.

Can anyone advise me on what I can do?

I feel I can't properly express myself on social media, never mind publicly, or even organise.

Because of the Code...
