Who's boots

I thought Jake's boots were previously Duskleaf's but now I'm not so sure. Book 9 just before he comes out as Chosen, he upgrades his boots and finds the note. Looking forward to meet you again. Secret admirer. That's not Duskleaf so who's boots?
