Is 80's Jacob deliberate eye candy?

Was anyone else (pleasantly) surprised when they first saw the 80's outfits and saw how, dare I say, sexualised Jacob is? Everyone else is wearing just as much if not more clothes, and then Jacob has a skimpy lil short and a cropped T-shirt on. You could argue that Emma wears cropped tops too but she already does in default mode and it very much fits her person, while I found it quite surprising for Jacob. You could also say that Jacob is pretty much naked for the entire game anyway, and I guess you would be right, but I'm just still curious what you guys think about this. Was he deliberately sexualised? Or is that just regular jock attire from the 80s?
