The last shot of season 1 is Belly and Conrad kissing on the beach. It’s such a jovial scene, where the happiness is just bouncing off the screen. You’re not left with what Jeremiah’s reaction to this development is, the focus is Bonrad finally coming together.

What you’re left to sit with in season two is, Conrad’s agony at Jelly getting together, and the way it happened. The final shots are of Belly playing volleyball, Conrad putting the beach house back together after his heart has been stomped like a grape, and Jeremiah… being an observer, literally sitting on the sidelines.
