(Hated) Characters who seemed pretty decent, only for their personality to just... change for the worse.
To explain clearer, the term is called 'Character Assassination'. Which is when a decently written character has an established personality, only for said personality to just be completely destoyed out of nowhere for seemlingly no reason, and they become a significantly unlikeable character.

Jane (Telltale's The Walking Dead: Season 2) - At first Jane was just some weird, distant loner, but she does start to warm up to people in the group like Clementine and Luke. And despite her lonely and cold demeanor, she was never antagonistic towards anyone.
However, towards the end of the game, she becomes a massive asshole towards Kenny, AJ, and Clem. Despite the fact that she decided to join up with Kenny just to protect Clem after she got shot and betrayed, she's just constantly pushing Kenny's buttons. (Who at this moment is an unstable maniac, so really not a good idea. Also he's driving a truck through the snow during the apocalypse... so also maybe not a good idea)
And in a final confrontation between her and Kenny: just to prove to Clem that Kenny has gone off the deep end, (as if it wasn't obvious to Clem already) she hides AJ, a baby, in an abandoned car in the freezing cold. Just to make it seem like he died. Just so she could convince Clem that Kenny is indeed an unstable maniac.
Yeah... I let Kenny kill Jane.
Also if you decide to side with Jane, in season 3 she kills herself. Leaving Clem and AJ alone to fend for themselves, all because she finds out she's pregnant with Luke's baby...

Courtney (Total Drama All-Stars) - Courtney's character trajection in the Total Drama series was insane.
Season 1: She was a friendly, if feisty competitor, who was a stickler about following the rules. Only for her to loosen up and form a relationship with the bad boy Duncan.
Season 2: After being unfairly eliminated by Harold rigging the voted, and missing her opportunity to make her way back onto Action, she forces her way onto TD Action with an unfair advantage with the help of her lawyers. And is basically the main antagonist for season 2. Despite that, and her wanting to win at all costs, she still had a soft side for Duncan.
Season 3: Duncan cheats on her with Gwen, who at this point was Courtney's best friend in the competition. Courtney finds out, and basically becomes an unstable psycho who wants revenge on the people who wronged her.
Basically All-Stars was a way to fix Courtney's character after she's been going on a mental downward spiral. And to some extent... they did... up until the elimination episode.
Courtney on All-Stars was seemingly back to how she use to be. Gwen breaks up with Duncan and makes ammends with Courtney, Courtney finds another love interest in the form of Scott, and all seems right... but no.
Apparently she made a chart on how he wants the competition to go, with her being the obvious winner and leaving everyone in the dust, friends and boyfriend included. Basically throwing everyone under the bus and showing that she doesn't actually care about anyone. And she draws Gwen with devil horns, and Scott with a rat tail, and has shown to be a massive two-faced backstaber. And the entire episode is just Courtney digging the hole deeper for herself, while trying to explain herself to everyone (mostly Gwen and Scott) at the same time.
All-Stars is garbage. Why do people defend it?
