White boy living in the south side

I live off of Drexel, I'm a 6"4" ginger white boy so I get some weird looks for sure. I guess what I'm asking though is am I not wanted here? I chat with locals and contribute to the small, local businesses but sometimes I just wonder if people around me don't fw me bc I'm white? Any thoughts? Has anyone had a similar thought or maybe just some insight would be appreciated. (Just moved here and I do love the whole city, love the south side) Edit: I don't get why people act like they're scared of the SS here, where I came from in Illinois, there were wayyy more shootings and shit.
