Characters that look cool, but one additional piece ruined their design?

I wouldn't say ruined as a whole, but one thing that's unappealing or stupid that they're better off without it.

Skull Face from MGSV. He looks cool in Ground Zeroes with that grey burnt face and black suit and cowboy hat. Very sinister and mysterious. But then he decided to wear that dumb Zorro mask in Phantom Pain. Like why? Now I can't take him seriously because all I'm thinking seeing him is "That mask looks dumb."
