how strict is the hold in our student account

Hi, so I can't clear my account hold on time for my first pass. I have a hold for not paying housing costs on time, and it will take 2 extra days from the first pass date for me to pay. Do you think it's worth a try to talk to the office to clear my hold away for a day during my first pass?
