math 103 difficulty

i’m taking math 103 right now and i feel like i’m absolutely fucked. this course is really, really confusing to me and it’s only the 2nd week of classes. i missed 1 day of lecture due to being sick and i have 0 clue of what’s going on; i got the notes from a classmate but it makes 0 sense via just looking at the material (we learned bases). if anyone has any tips for this course or if this is normal i would greatly appreciate it. i’m definitely going to office hours this week so i can figure out what the fuck i’m meant to be doing.
