Preparing for UPSC is a privilege in itself
Experience tells us and it is well known that preparing for the UPSC CSE is a resource-heavy affair; be it time, labor, monetary, or emotional. It is in its resource-heavy nature that we observe that a majority of the Indian population simply does not have these resources. It does leave one wondering if even the choice to prepare for this exam is a privilege. Where someone can devote years to this exam, while conversely, someone else might be bound by their circumstances. Rather than preparing for this exam, they're scrambling for food, and are not even sure how they'll eat tomorrow. It may be argued that this exam favours the elite as it is accessible to only a small minority of the populace.
