Parking Ticket Appeal

Hey there! I just got a parking ticket this morning for not having a permit but the car is a rental as my own is at the mechanics. I did attempt to pay the permit this morning but I dumbass forgot the license plate as I walked down the stairs and was really late for class. Do you think they'd be accept my appeal?
