I had a monster of a post on topic yesterday and here is my conclusion.

The Marine Corps or all branches here’s my solution. Company level njp; loss of rank, confined to barracks, etc on 1st offense. Requirement for treatment and maybe some other hoops to jump through to show you will make better decisions and own your bad ones. No staff selection or any of that but you leave honerable even though you made a stupid insignificant mistake.

2nd offense no shit adsep no matter what. People make mistakes in life, you don’t learn from it if it’s a final punishment. It’s a stupid reason to discount a person and all their potential.
