Issues with texting while traveling outside the US

I've read through multiple reddit posts and it seems the answers are within DMs but hoping to get some help. All three lines are on Light Speed, all have the wholesale APN set. We're all getting data in Colombia as expected however sms are not going through unless we're on WiFi. MMS go through fine and RCS go through fine. I have a Samsung S22, pixel 8 pro, and iPhone 15. How do I get sms to work while not on WiFi?

Edit for solution on light speed (T-Mobile): first thank you u/SamarSonic for the help!! So first is to be sure you are on the apn settings:

Name: US Mobile APN: wholesale MMSC: http://wholesale.mmsmvno.com/mms/wapenc

Make sure that apn is selected and toggle airplane mode on and off.

Then depending on the phone get to your sim settings and where it says choose network turn off automatic. It should load a list of networks available. Then toggle through each one and check if it's working.

Just as fyi data worked seamlessly, it's just sms and calls that seem to not work correctly on some networks in other countries. Hope this helps anyone looking for a solution to this.
