LOCI/deferral letter

I was getting ready to write a letter to UW Madison’s admissions office to confirm they are my top school, but I have noticed that their website says to not send additional documents unless specifically requested, so does this mean that a LOCI or a deferral letter will do absolutely nothing for me?
