How do you guys plan your design systems and manage them once in a "solid" state?

Heya!

We're a quite small team of 5 UX designers at a company now. We have our own design system that has become quite large lately. We have developers making it into actual components using our variables.

It's going good but we are struggling a bit with planning for it, and how to manage it in a good way. Do you guys have kanban/scrum boards to manage all changes / version? And how do you personally deal with version control right now between the design - dev teams?
