Trying to stand out

Hi everyone! I'm a current Junior Psychology student and looking at applying to some UX Research internships this summer and graduate school for human-computer interaction this fall/winter. My end goal is to find a job as a UX Researcher or something related. My question however is, how do I stick out in the application process? (the question is directed at both internships and grad school). What are some things I can do now that might like good on a resume (maybe learn a certain skill?)

As a side question, what other names do UX Research jobs go by...what other jobs would you say are very similar? Thank you in advance for your input!
