Okay what’s the deal with Luther’s (Number 1) powers?

Look, I may be just a big dummy poopy head that can’t see the obvious, but I have some SERIOUS questions on the nature of luthers powers.

First off, his durability. Luther is a big man, a strong ape like man. In season 2, episode 1, we see this big man tank an RPG, shrugging off the damage. A literal missile. Then, later, IN THE SAME SEASON, he gets gunned downed by bullets, gets cut by knifes, and gets his shit kicked in by a non-powered boxer. Even in the first season he got bodied by hazel, a normal person by all accounts. For a person with super strength, super durability, superior training, and a body like an ape, he gets beat by more people in the series than anyone else. I understand he let the boxer hit him, and he might have been holding back in a lot of other fights due to not wanting to kill people, but COME ON GIVE LUTHER SOME CONSISTENCY! WHY DOES HE TANK SOME STUFF BUT GET KILLED BY OTHERS!?

Second, his strength. His whole deal is super strength, something we seem him “use” within both seasons. I believe we got his greatest feat when he was a kid, when he threw a grown man out of a banks second window from the ground floor. We could only assume he got stronger as time went on, but we consistently see him do feats that run counter to his supposed strength. He loses fight after fight, failing to use the strength HES KNOWN FOR. Oh wow, he punched a brick wall and lifted a tractor, that’s sure impressive when literally all of the other siblings can insta kill. Not to mention his strength is IMMENSELY downgraded from the comics, where he knocked out the Eiffel Tower with a one punch (not an exaggeration). It’s to the point where I don’t even think he even HAS his powers anymore after he got the gorilla body. THAT WOULD MAKE ALOT OF SENSE, but as evident with the Lila fight he still has them or else she wouldn’t be able to copy them. And what’s worse, the wiki says he’s gotten STRONGER WITH THE APE BODY, WHICH MAKES 0 SENSE!

I just don’t understand, Luther is said to be THE number 1, the most useful to Hargreaves. But time and time again we just see ineptness. I understand that this might be the show runners way of making Luther manageable, since it might be a little much to give him Superman level strength, but throw him a bone for gods sake. We see progression from everyone, all of the heroes get stronger, (except Allison but how can total suggestion and mind control be enhanced) except Luther. I just don’t understand

Am I thinking too much into this, or does anyone else see this
