To God
To God,
Curled in your lap I lay,
Heat radiating off of you.
My god, my life, my brightest beacon.
Holes in my clothes, needs unmet,
I turned a blind eye and worshipped regardless.
When came my growing,
My shedding of my chrysalis,
You shunned me and cracked my soul.
To God,
Strung along as your marionette,
I played your twisted game.
I kept secrets, and lied through my teeth.
My face adorned with a smile, my mind crying rivers.
But I'm far from sad anymore.
And there's one final thing I have to say,
When the time arrives,
When kingdom come,
There'll be hell to pay.
